We are currently hiring a Fundraising & Grant Coordinator!

Stevens Square Community Organization (SSCO) is looking for a part-time fundraising and grant coordinator to assist staff with raising funds for organization operations and other neighborhood priorities. Our goal is to raise $500,000 by mid-2025 through a combination of grants and donations.

  • Part-Time, 20 hours per week

  • Compensation: $25 per hour

  • Contract will last from January 1st to June 1st, 2025 with the possibility of extension.

  • Remote position but must attend in-person monthly SSCO Board of Directors meeting

  • Office is available

About the Organization

Since 1975 SSCO has provided a forum for community involvement and leadership that builds on neighborhood strengths to promote and improve Stevens Square-Loring Heights as a fun place to live, work, and play. SSCO is the recognized neighborhood organization for the Stevens Square-Loring Heights neighborhood in the city of Minneapolis and is led by its Board of Directors and its committees.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising & Grant-Writing

    • Lead grant-seeking and writing activities to support the organization’s financial needs for ongoing operations and grant opportunities for additional activities that align with the organization’s purpose.

    • Cultivate individual donations through annual fund and major donor fundraising activities, and work with the committees of SSCO to coordinate these efforts.

    • Ensure effective tracking and timely acknowledgment (thank you letters) of donations with support from the Board of Directors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grant Writing: Experience applying for government and philanthropic grants with a track record of success.

  • Fundraising: Ability to raise funds for community programming and neighborhood services.

  • Community Relations: Comfortable with engaging neighbors and community stakeholders to identify priorities and pursue opportunities to achieve shared goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has access to a laptop or computer and reliable internet access

  • Experience working with community-serving nonprofits

  • Some secondary education
