Madelaine and Amin, refugees from the Lebanese Civil War, hope to return home one day--a hope that comes under siege when their daughter goes missing. How We Are Bound is an adaptation of a short story by the same name written by Lebanese-American author Patricia Sarrafian Ward.
Michael Bryant - Take Care of Yourself (11 mins)
Take Care of Yourself is a short film that explores grieving for a loved one as their health slowly declines from an illness while utilizing supernatural themes. A young man faces his fearful thoughts of loss personified when met with the horror of his mother becoming gravely ill.
Ryan Stopera - The Return (20 mins)
The Return is a sci-fi, kung-fu, hip hop musical set in a world where all art, music, and communication was banned. The ruthless 警察 Jǐngchá hunted and imprisoned all who did not obey the law. Information was shared through a microchip that each citizen was given in a brain implant, which was used to send state propaganda messages, spreading lies and fear. A few brave artists refused to stop creating and joined together to fight back.
