Make new friends (both in class and in art) and learn the technique of hand-sewing. This colorful, tactile class will explore elements of form, texture, and color through the making of cool critters and scenes out of fabric, buttons, and beads.
Samantha Leopold-Sullivan creates visceral creatures in dialogue with industrial spaces, deepening self-understanding and reflection within the viewer. They graduated Cum Laude from Macalester College in 2014 with a B.A. in Studio Art and Environmental Studies, and received a MFA in Sculpture/Dimensional Studies from Alfred University in 2019. Active in the
Conspiracy of Strange Girls artist collective and the Dark Art Society, they also volunteer at the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center. Leopold-Sullivan has outdoor sculpture installed at Franconia Sculpture Park, Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum, and Salem Art Works, and their work is carried at the Nokomis Gallery. Recent solo exhibitions include "Seeking Space" at Red Garage Studio, and "Summoning Self" at The Robert C. Turner Gallery.
