Back by popular demand, Red Hot Workshops are free hands-on arts workshops in the gardens of Stevens Square-Loring Heights, facilitated by teaching artists.
These workshops are sign-up required and first-come-first-serve. Sign up here!
This workshop is a session of collective healing where participants will be invited to communicate through writing, conversation, and movement what is important to them today. Participants will then use these methods to recognize and build connective capacities by creating a solidarity movement pattern with each other.
Originally from Oklahoma, Arneshia is a dance artist currently practicing in Minnesota. She views her artwork as snapshots into the social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of life. Her work explores contemporary relationships through performance that is influenced by African Diasporic practices.
She has been awarded residencies and scholarships to support her choreography. Recent residencies were at Dea Studios and with the Momentum: New Dance Works program. She danced works by nationally known artists including Gesel Mason and Helanius Wilkins. As a choreographer and performer, her work has been recently shown at the Riverwalk Center and the Cowles Center.
Arneshia broadens access by expanding who and how people envision themselves in dance performance, choreography, and education. She enjoys introducing and collaborating through dance as a moving and healing practice.
