THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

Whether you served on Block Patrol, helped at Cinema & Civics, picked up litter at our Trash Bash, volunteered at Red Hot Art, or voiced your thoughts at a committee meeting, you’ve done so much for SSCO in the last year. We truly couldn’t do it without you. So we’re throwing you a little party to thank you for your service to your neighborhood. Light refreshments will be served.

SPECIAL ELECTION

This is your chance to step up to help your community in a leadership role yourself, and/or to ensure that the people making decisions about your neighborhood will represent your interests. At this meeting the following seats are up for election (all 2-year terms):

  • Board Vice Chair
  • Board Treasurer
  • Two At-Large Board Member seats

You can also learn more about 1-year term Appointed seats, an easy way to try out Board membership, and even start the application process. If you are interested in learning more about running for available Board positions, please visit http://stevenssquare.org/consider-joining-the-volunteer-leadership-of-ssco, email Scott at scott@stevenssquare.org or call 612-874-2840.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE?

All residents (16+ years old) of the Stevens Square-Loring Heights neighborhood attending meetings are considered Members of SSCO. Representatives of businesses/institutions located in the neighborhood are also eligible (contact us for eligibility details). The neighborhood’s boundaries are Highway I-94 to the north, Franklin Avenue to the south, Lyndale Avenue to the west, and Highway I-35W to the east. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact us at info@stevenssquare.org or 612-874-2840.

PLEASE NOTE!

Please note this volunteer appreciation party and special election overlaps with the Neighborhood Development & Events Committee meeting. You’re welcome to come for just the appreciation party and special election from 6:30-7:30 and welcome (but not obligated!) to stay for the NDEC meeting from 7:30-8:30.

ACCESSIBILITY
This meeting is held at the SSCO offices, 1925 Nicollet Avenue (we share a building with the Loring Nicollet Alternative School). Ring the doorbell if you need to be let in. This building is accessible to wheelchairs; please let us know if you need any other accommodations to participate.

***Renters! You might be eligible for a discount on your rent just for coming to this meeting. Learn more at stevenssquare.org/rental-rebate-programs.
